Aircraft Leasing

We understand the operational issues associated with short term leasing and can source aircraft to meet any specific requirement. We introduce buyers to sellers. We will save you time and money. JAI analyzes the marketplace and all available aircraft, and assists clients with selection and negotiation.

Aircraft are leased for various reasons:

  • Existing aircraft may be unserviceable.
  • Additional aircraft are required at peak times.
  • Fleet expansion.
  • Monthly lease payments are typically treated as expenses.
  • Less money is required up-front. Most lenders require at least ten percent down to finance an aircraft purchase. With a lease, the company does not have to allocate capital to an asset that does not generate income. The lessee can more easily upgrade to another aircraft as their needs change.
  • At the end of the lease, the lessee can walk away, renew, or in many cases purchase the aircraft.

We will need the following information from you when you request a lease contract:

  • Location of operation?
  • Intended routes that you would fly?
  • How would you like to lease the aircraft: ACMI (aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance), wet lease, damp lease or dry lease? An ACMI lease provides a comprehensive service of leasing aircraft for medium to long term periods at relatively short notice.
  • Length of time (6 months–several years)?
  • What is the purpose?
  • Would it be a passenger, cargo, or passenger and cargo combined operation? What is the requirement (e.g. how many passengers, cargo payload)?
  • What is the MGH (minimum guaranteed hours) that you can offer. This is normally around 100 hours. The more hours you can guarantee per month the better hourly rate you will get.
  • Do you have your own AOC? (Aircraft Operating Certificate)?
